Thanks for joining us for the first-ever Horsetooth International Film Festival (HIFF)!

We received some amazing entries during our first year, and we are so excited by the amount of you who came to check them out. We hope the selection of films entertained you; made you laugh, cry, and opened your eyes and your hearts to new ways of thinking and creating.

In The News

We are also thankful to get some extra love and support from local press in NOCO! Seeing the community get excited about the event and turn out in large numbers on all three days is truly exciting and humbling. We’re excited about the potential of what it can offer to creatives in our community and around the world.

Here’s a bit more about where we’ve been featured in recent weeks:

“PRINT MATERIAL”

“Screen Test” is a profile in NoCo Style Magazine on Filmmakers and the HIFF Co-Founders, John Hunt and Jessie Nyander, that shares a quick background on the Horsetooth International Film Festival. It details how an idea transformed into a multi-day festival across multiple venues in NOCO. The article also mentions other key film fans and influencers in NOCO, and how their vision to support creativity and film have helped shape the budding film scene in the area.

The Loveland Reporter Herald presented some pre-event coverage on local artist Venetia Ellis of Loveland, whose short animated film, “Lost in Übersetzung,” was featured during the National Short Film Category of the festival on Saturday at The Rialto Theater. “ON THE AIR”

Stacy Nick, Arts and Entertainment reporter for KUNC, did an interview with Jesse Nyander, Filmmaker and Co-Founder of HIFF, and shared a short interview and blog post.

We also received television coverage from Colorado and Company, that featured Cindy Mackin, Visitor Services Manager for the City of Loveland.

Post Event Coverage

The Rocky Mountain Collegian showed up all weekend to capture and provide some in-depth coverage of our event, and posted a couple great reads.
